Its very rare that we build a web site without a direct CMS attached to it. In this case we made an exception. It is a straight forward HTML theme, with some JQuery to make it more dynamic, and to add movement.
It is managed by a ‘web’ based CMS application, with small snippets of code made available for modification – like the food menu’s.
The Brief was to create a ‘brand’ based website, that matched the identity of the Restaurant menu’s, and style of the establishment. The only requirement for a CMS is to enable small snippets of content available for modification. No need for a database.

Welcome to the Placemat Me Network. We are a local publisher of Placemat advertising in Folkestone and the surrounding areas. Established in 2009 we are the first of a kind in the South East and look forward to expanding around the County of Kent, connecting business people through our exciting Placemat Community.
We work very hard with local restaurants and venues to provide them with beautifully designed placemats free of charge. These mats are used to promote other local businesses and local events. Each venue will run 4 Placemat programmes a year and we will offer a free advertising space to a non-profit organisation or local charity of their choice. The other spaces are sold to non-competing businesses. Helping non-profit organisations and providing free placemats to restaurants means everyone is happy!

Years ago I started using WordPress as a Content Management System to organized the hundreds of pages on my site. Around the same time, several smartie developers began creating professional premium themes for WordPress that were CMS oriented. WordPress was not just for Blogs anymore! Now you could have your entire site run on WordPress with a section dedicated to your Blog.
